Restaurant POS

Responsive ordering for restaurant staff.

A full-stack restaurant ordering system built as the final project of my five-month coding bootcamp at Wild Code School. The application was designed for restaurant staff to receive and manage orders across devices such as tablets, phones and desktop screens.

Problem

The goal was to create a responsive ordering system that restaurant staff could use across different devices while keeping the frontend, API and database inside one shared project structure.

Key features

Responsive ordering interface for phones, tablets and desktop devices
JWT-based authentication
Full-stack monorepo architecture
PostgreSQL database integration with Prisma
Automated testing with Vitest
GitHub Actions for pull-request test checks

Technical approach

The project was developed by two developers. I was responsible for the complete frontend, integrated the PostgreSQL database layer with the backend through Prisma, and contributed to parts of the Express API. We structured the application as a monorepo using Moonrepo and PNPM workspaces, with JWT-based authentication and automated tests.

What I’d improve

This was an early team project built within the limited timeframe of a coding bootcamp. Today I would define the application boundaries, API structure and shared types more clearly before implementation and add broader integration and end-to-end test coverage.
